Recent developments in the acetone, butanol, ethanol upstream, fermentation, and downstream processing [abstract]. World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioprocessing. p. 93. Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: Recent developments in the acetone, butanol, ethanol (ABE) fermentation employing the solventogenic Clostridium, Clostridium beijerinckii BA101, will be discussed. This will include an examination of upstream processes and strain developments as well as the development of an integrated downstream process for efficient product recovery. Current activities on the scale up of this fermentation will be discussed with a particular focus on the substrates being considered and potential this process has for commercialization. |
