Proceedings of American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. p. 224-225. Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: Infection with Mycobacterium paratuberculosis suggests an on-going struggle for control between host immune cells and the microorganism. During the progression from subclinical phase to the clinical stage of the disease a deviation from the proper immune response arises and disrupts the ability of the host to contain the disease. Mechanisms for the disruption in host immunity will be discussed. |
