Technical Abstract: This paper summarizes most of the significant developments and research conducted on saw gin stands for cotton gins since about 1958. It describes the design and operation of various types and models of saw gin stands, and gives an appraisal of gin stand designs and settings that may be most useful at current cotton gins.
