Interpretive Summary: Ramularia leaf spot of beet, caused by Ramularia beticola is a minor disease in the United States and a more important problem in other beet growing areas and during seed production. Symptoms, disease cycle, and disease management are discussed in this chapter.

Technical Abstract: Ramularia leaf spot of sugar beet, a disease caused by Ramularia beticola, is a sporadic problem in the United States, particularly in seed production. It is a more common problem in parts of Europe. Symptoms include light brown, angular spots on the leaves and can cause death of leaves. Epidemiology and management strategies are discussed.
