Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The fuel ethanol industry is currently experiencing unprecedented growth. In conjunction with this expansion, the quantity of distillers grains produced over time has grown in parallel. This industry has continually evolved, and technological innovations and process changes have been implemented that have improved process efficiencies, but have also affected the resulting coproduct streams. As a consequence, new questions, challenges, and opportunities for utilizing distillers grains have arisen. As the quantity of these materials continues to grow, it is vital that these issues are addressed, so that value-added uses for distillers grains continue to be developed and augmented.
