Citation: Konstantinov, A.S., Chamorro-Lacayo, M.L. 2006. A new genus of moss-inhabiting flea beetles (coleoptera: chrysomelidae) from the Dominican Republic. The Coleopterists Bulletin. 61(4):275-290.

Interpretive Summary: Leaf beetles, especially flea beetles, are among the most important insects to U.S. agriculture. Many are serious pests, feeding on crops and destroy valuable plants; others are important biological control agents that can be used to control unwanted weeds. This work describes a new leaf beetle genus and species from the Dominican Republic, providing key characters, description, and illustrations to allow for its identification. This study will be useful to biological control workers, taxonomists, ecologists, and anyone interested in phytophagous beetles.

Technical Abstract: The new genus Kiskeya and one new species (K. baorukae) from the Dominican Republic are described and illustrated. Kiskeya is compared to Monotalla Bechyne, Normaltica Konstantinov and Clavicornaltica Scherer.
