Cationic Polymerization of Vegetable Oils in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide [abstract]. International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry International Symposium on Ionic Polymerization, 9/2-9/7/09, Bayreuth, Germany. Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: Polymers derived from vegetable oils have been prepared in supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) medium by cationic polymerization. Boron trifluoride diethyl etherate BF3.O(C2H2)2 are used as initiator. Influences of polymerization temperature, initiator amount, and carbon dioxide pressure on the molecular weight are investigated. Also, the effect of vegetable oil composition on the molecular weight of polymer is studied. |
