Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: The Application Technology Research Unit is the largest multidisciplinary research team in the United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, conducting on-farm research studies on floricultural and nursery crops. Part of ATRU Mission is to conduct fundamental and developmental research on new and improved application technologies to protect floricultural, nursery, landscape, turf, horticultural, and field crops against injury from diseases, pests, nutritional stress and adverse environmental conditions, while safe-guarding environmental quality, food and worker safety. ATRU is located on the campus of the Ohio State University, Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster, Ohio, and on the campus of the University of Toledo. It is composed of the following components: Agricultural Engineering Group (Wooster), Greenhouse Production Research Group (Toledo), Horticultural Insects Group (Wooster), IR-4 Food Use and Ornamental Group (Wooster), IR-4 Program and Plant Pathology and Horticulture Group (Wooster).
