Characterisation of a novel pestivirus associated with an outbreak of stillbirths and pre-weaning deaths in pigs due to myocarditis. World Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians. In: Proceedings of the 13th International World Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians Symposium, November 11-14, 2007, Melbourne, Australia. p. 32. Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: A syndrome of stillbirths and preweaning losses with myocarditis occurred on 2 Australian pig farms in 2003. While extensive investigations excluded a wide range of know agents, a foetal inoculation study confirmed an infectious agent was present and likely to be viral. This paper describes the identification/characterisation of this agent. |
