The Genetic Basis of Fusarium Root Rot Tolerance in the 'Afghanistan' Pea. Pisum Genetics. 39: 35-36. Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: The genetic basis of tolerance to Fusarium root rot found in many landraces grown in the region that includes Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal and northwestern India was examined in a recombinant inbred population derived from a cross between a tolerant accession. Three loci appear to be primarily responsible for the tolerance. One is located on LG II very near A, the second is on LG VII and the third on LG VI. The first two loci interact additively, whereas the third locus requires the tolerant allele at the first locus to display an effect. |
