Interpretive Summary: This manuscript presents a short biography of Dr. Hugh Daubeny, now emeritus geneticist from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. This biography is being published as a dedication chapter for a book on raspberry breeding, an activity that Dr. Daubeny pursued for his 45-year career. Hugh has released 15 raspberry cultivars that are now planted in significant acreage around the world. His most renowned cultivar is named ‘Tulameen’. This red raspberry has become the world standard by which other fresh market and potential fresh market cultivars are judged.
