The most abundant parasitoid species are Prorops nasuta (Hymenoptera: Bethylidae) and Aphanogmus sp. (Hymenoptera: Ceraphronidae). Our preliminary findings indicate that Aphanogmus sp. is a hyperparasitoid of P. nasuta. Both insects exhibit a distinct phenology linked to the population dynamics of the coffee berry borer. Emergence data from berries collected from the leaf litter strata largely exceeds those from the trees, indicating that these berries form an important reservoir for natural enemies. |
