Epidemiological Peculiarity of Septoria Species on Winter Wheat in the Central Region of the Russian Federation. Symposium Proceedings. Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: The frequency of Septoria species on the host plant and development of disease were estimated during three growing seasons on five winter wheat cultivars in the Central region of the Russian Federation. Frequency of the species in the different plant growth stages varied. During the early growth stages (up to the flag leaf stage, ph.37) S. tritici dominated, after which the frequency of S. nodorum and S. avenae triticea increased. Weather conditions and cultivars, but not growth stages, particularly influenced the ratio of the species. Severity of disease on the plants during the growing season was determined by the weather conditions, frequency of Septoria species, and the resistance of the wheat cultivars tested. |
