Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Stable flies, Stomoxys calcitrans (L.), are serious livestock pests that feed mainly on cattle and cause significant economic loss in the cattle industry. The present presentation reports our new findings on stable fly sensory morphology and physiology, host-seeking and oviposition related odorant compounds, as well as novel botanical-based repellent identification, which may significantly contribute to the push-pull strategy used for stable fly management.
