MAb interference prevents an immune response by binding to the vaccine antigen. Once MAb titers are depleted, the chick is susceptible to a circulating AI virus. This study examined the affect of MAb on seroconversion to AI vaccines. Chicks were passively transferred antibodies using AI hyperimmunized serum, and then vaccinated with an inactivated AI vaccine, a fowl pox-AI recombinant vaccine, or a Newcastle-AI recombinant vaccine. Passively transferred antibodies did not interfere with the inactivated vaccine; however, passively transferred antibodies reduced seroconversion in recombinant vaccinated chicks suggesting MAb interference. |
