Researchers in private business, government, and universities will need to unleash their creativity and skills in new ways to overcome the challenges in producing abundant and cost-competitive biofuels that can be used to power aircraft, ships, and ground vehicles. This article offers a step-by-step outline on how to meet the need for domestically-produced biofuels, as well as information on activities within USDA and other organizations that are helping to create sustainable supply chains of biofuels suitable for military, aviation, and commercial uses.
