American Chemical Society. Poster #11.

Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Using mutagenized Kluyveromyces marxianus strains (WT, 7-1, 8-1) we wish to find out the variable numbered tandem repeats (VNTR) of each of the DNA strains from the different mutagenized K. marxianus strains. To do this we used Phusion HF Buffer Pack to try and give a clear picture of the VNTR by using different fungal primers to try and figure out the genetic fingerprint of each yeast strain. If we can find the differences in the VNTR this may be able to tell us as to why which yeast grows best in glucose then the others and can produce more ethanol.
