Dupree - Stuttgart National Aquaculture Research Center, Stuttgart, Arkansas USA was honored with the S.F. Snieszko Distinguished Service Award on 16 June 2011 at the American Fisheries Society – Fish Health Section annual meeting in Nanaimo, British Columbia Canada. This is the highest award presented by the Fish Health Section, the purpose of which is to honor individuals for outstanding accomplishments in the field of aquatic animal health. His distinguished career includes significant contributions to fisheries and aquaculture. Deborah Iwanowicz (U.S. Geological Survey’s Leetown Science Center; Kearneysville, West Virginia USA) put it this way: 'His practical approach to relevant issues in Southeastern warm water aquaculture perhaps sets him apart from typical fish health practitioners...His work has been selfless, focusing on helping the warm water aquaculture industry in regards to fish pathogen management...His contributions to the Fish Health Section are immense…” Congratulations Drew on a well deserved honor. |
