Technical Abstract: America has had a long history with beekeeping and plays a leadership role in global beekeeping industry, which provides critical pollination services to agricultural crops constituting one-third of the world’s consumed foods. This article aims to provide an overview of the structure and function of the American beekeeping industry and the role of the American Beekeeping Federation (ABF) in enhancing the practice of beekeeping, educating general public about the value of honey bees, and promoting the advancement of high-quality research to solve the problems that beekeeping industry is currently facing. The unique information included in this article may be of useful for researchers and graduate students who are interested in the econometric model of the US beekeeping industry.
