Cajal bodies are developmentally regulated during pollen development abd pollen tube growth in Arabidopsis thaliana. Molecular Plant. 6: 1355-1357. Interpretive Summary: Cajal bodies are structures in the nucleus of cells. During pollen development Cajal Bodies change thier distribution and number. Technical Abstract: Cajal bodies aree structures in the nucleus of cells: they are involved in several aspects of gene expression, such as in processing transcipts. The presence of Cajal bodies can be measured with a flourescent protien of a protien called Colin which is abundant in Cajal bodies. This paper shows that Cajal bodies are dynamic during pollen development, changing their distribution patterns and number in the vegetative cell, which grows the pollen tube, and the sperm cells. |
