Interpretive Summary: The scientific, generic name for Poorjoe was discovered to not be the earliest name for the genus. The scientific names for the species in the genus are changed in accordance with the international rules of botanical nomenclature. They are widespread weeds that originated in the New World, and have been spread all over the world.

Technical Abstract: Ten new combinations in Hexasepalum (Rubiaceae, Spermacoceae) are here proposed, for species formerly in Diodella.
