Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Rift Valley fever is a viral disease that impacts domestic livestock and humans in Africa and the Middle East, and poses a threat to military operations in these areas. We describe a Rift Valley fever Risk Monitoring website, and its ability to predict risk of disease temporally and spatially. We also describe how this information can be used to develop response, mitigation or avoidance strategies that the military may be able to implement. A discussion of the potential to forecast other militarily relevant diseases is also included.
