Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Pichia anomalais, which produces the antimicrobial volatile 2-phenylethanol (2-PE), is effective in reducing A. flavus growth and aflatoxin production. We treated A. flavus NRRL3357 with 2-PE and analyzed changes in the transcriptomic profiles at different stages of fungal growth. RNA-Seq reads from six samples each with three biological replicates that passed the quality control procedures total over 433 millions. The sequence reads were deposited at the Sequence Read Archive of the National Center for Biotechnology Information under the accession number of SRP056528. The dataset will have a significant impact on the understanding of how the biocontrol yeast affects Aspergillus flavus growth, development and secondary metabolism.
