Draft Genome Sequence of Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica Serovar Bardo Strain CRJJGF_00099 (Phylum Gammaproteobacteria). Genome Announcements. 4(5):e00964-16. Interpretive Summary: Salmonella enterica can colonize a wide variety of animals and become a food borne pathogen that usually causes gastroenteritis in humans. Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Bardo is a rarely reported serovar; however, S. Bardo has been isolated from chicken carcasses in Portugal, pet reptiles in Japan, and oyster and cattle from the U.S. S. Bardo also cause an outbreak in Switzerland in 2011. Here, we announce the draft genome sequence of a multidrug resistant (MDR) S. Bardo isolated from dairy cattle in 2005. The draft genome data can provide useful information about the genome structure and antibiotic resistance mechanisms in this rarely reported serovar. Technical Abstract: Here, we report a 4.87 Mbp draft genome sequence of the multidrug resistant (MDR) Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Bardo strain CRJJGF_00099, isolated from dairy cattle in 2005. |
