Interpretive Summary: An overview is presented for the American Bee Research Conference (ABRC) held in January 2017 in Galveston, TX and organized by the American Association of Professional Apiculturists. The ABRC is a scientific conference focused solely on current honey bee research and held annually with one of the beekeeping conventions. This year's conference featured 59 talks, including 19 student talks, and 14 poster presentations. Topics of presentations covered all of the major issues and areas of honey bee biology, including queen health, pesticides, nutrition and honey bee parasites and pests.
