Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: This is an update of the 2010 version of Cucumber Gene List. Since the release of the cucumber draft genome in 2009, significant progress has been made in developing cucumber genetic and genomics resources. A number of genes or QTLs have been tagged with molecular markers, which provides us a better understanding of the inheritance and underlying genetic mechanisms of horticulturally important traits in cucumber. Major revisions have been made in this 2017 version of the Cucumber Gene Catalog to reflect our new knowledge gained in last several years. In this version, genes for isoenzymes were removed from the list. Only simply inherited genes were included in this catalog, but major-effect QTLs for disease resistances, when available, were listed. Thirteen genes in the previous version were retired; three were renamed, and 73 new genes were added to the 2017 version bringing total number genes in the 2017 Cucumber Gene List to 199.
