Technical Abstract: Transitioning from a high school student into a professional career requires an array of skills that one will collectively develop over the years. During this process, it is important to develop the necessary skills that will help with the transition and help you stand out from the crowd. Here I discuss how I transitioned from a high school to a postdoctoral research chemist and how the skills I acquired over the years prepared me for the steps I took in my journey.
