Interpretive Summary: Next-generation DNA sequencing technology was used to sequence the transcriptome from the adult stage of the horn fly, Haematobia irritans. These samples include newly emerged unfed whole adult males and females, newly emerged unfed adult male horn fly survivors of 2 hour permethrin exposure, and newly emerged unfed adult male horn fly killed by exposure to 2 hour exposure to permethin + piperonyl butoxide. These sequences have been deposited at NCBI under the BioProject accession number PRJNA429442 and and BioSample accession numbers SAMN08355023-SAMN08355026, for newly emerged unfed adult females, newly emerged unfed adult males, newly emerged adult males treated with permethrin, and newly emerged adult males treated with permethrin + piperonyl butoxide, respectively. The pooled and assembled transcriptome has been deposited at DDBJ/EMBL/GenBank under the accession GGLM00000000. The version described here is the first version, GGLM01000000.
