Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Heat stress can reduce yield and quality of the potato crop. In this article we review how heat stress influences rate of seed piece emergence, growth rate of the canopy, tuber bulking, dry matter accumulation, and potato processing quality. By developing an understanding of how potato responds to warm temperatures, potato growers will be better able to anticipate potential impacts of heat on the crop and implement agronomic and business strategies to mitigate those impacts.
