Interpretive Summary: New methods for sample preparation improved visualizing the anatomy inside male and female adult Asian citrus psyllids. The reproductive systems of each gender has now been clearly presented. Novel images of the bacteria in the specialized organs, bacteriomes, is a major breakthrough. Use of Micro-Computed Tomography, similar to hospital CT or 'CAT' scan imaging, now makes analyses and imaging of small insects highly accurate.

Technical Abstract: New methods for sample preparation improved visualizing the anatomy inside male and female adult Asian citrus psyllids. The reproductive systems of each gender has now been clearly presented. Novel images of the bacteria in the specialized organs, bacteriomes,is a major breakthrough. Use of Micro-Computed Tomography, similar to hospital CT or 'CAT' scan imaging, now makes analyses and imaging of small insects highly accurate. New understanding of organ functions provides insights into potential biological targets for pest management.
