Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: In countries that have highly mechanized cotton harvesting and ginning operations, finding successful applications utilizing cotton plant materials, other than lint and seed, is a challenge. This presentation focuses on research efforts conducted by the USDA-ARS Cotton Production and Processing Research Unit to develop processes and products using cotton plant materials remaining after harvest and/or ginning. Products range from livestock feed to biodegradable packaging materials to replace polystyrene packaging.
