Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: What is peracetic acid, you ask? (Read on -- you’ll be glad you did!) That is the question I was asking myself after my first conversation with Dr. Thomas Meinelt while discussing research. Our communications had started the previous year with my manuscript request about a recent publication he had done on Ich; although it was in a German veterinary monthly magazine, there was an abstract in English that I found during a literature search. Through our emails, I learned we had similar research interests and careers (toxicology backgrounds, aquaculture, disease treatments, etc.). Here’s the story of our collaboration and the relationships we’ve made with the other co-authors over the years.
