Technical Abstract: This chapter reviews the identification, biology, economic impact, and control of Nipponaclerda biwakoensis (Kuwana), the Roseau cane scale. This species is invasive in the United States (Louisiana) and is associated with massive die-off of Phragmites australis (Roseau cane) in the Mississippi River Delta.
