Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The CPER is a research site that has a history of participating in national research networks, such as LTAR. Collaborative research networks require data sharing to enable data discovery, integration, and analysis to answer questions at broader scales. The LTAR agenda is guided by cross-site thematic scientific working groups that coordinate common objectives and experiments. Network data management approaches, however have been built from the ground up, beginning with new local data management elements at each site that contribute to an overall LTAR data management infrastructure. Elements from CPER that contribute to network data management address planning, building capacity, implementing standards, and reporting on data products. Furthermore, CPER can learn from and contribute to AgCROS, an existing research data system for ARS networks, to ensure data will be made available and useful in novel LTAR scientific endeavors.
