Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The development of SSR markers is being finalized to confirm number of repeat units for each allele and to prepare representative sequences for submission to GenBank. A final set of 12 markers has been decided, 10 of which are of high quality, while 2 are of lower quality, although they should still prove useful. The ability to resolve between 90 and 95% of the genotypes in the 31 isolates was tested and demonstrated by using only 8 markers. Using only 8 markers will reduce the expense of genotyping to about half of what using the full set of 12 would cost. A manuscript describing these markers is in preparation for publication.
