Interpretive Summary: SYNTOR Version 5 is a computer program that generates time-series of daily precipitation, daily minimum and maximum air temperature, and daily solar radiation at a location of interest. The generated daily weather data represents historical weather characteristics, or a climate change, and/or an extreme storm intensification. A continuous, uninterrupted, and error free record of observed daily weather data is required as input. This manual provides a brief overview of SYNTOR programs, capabilities and limitations, important assumptions, user options, input requirements, and program operation.

Technical Abstract: Software SYNTOR Version 5 generates time-series of synthetic daily precipitation, daily minimum and maximum air temperature, and daily solar radiation at a location of interest. Synthetic weather can be generated that represents historical weather characteristics, a climate change, and an extreme storm intensification. A continuous, uninterrupted, and error free record of historical (observed) daily weather data is required as input. This manual provides a brief overview of SYNTOR programs, capabilities and limitations, important assumptions, user options, input requirements, and program operation.
