Technical Abstract: Steffan Lab deliverables: 2011-2019. 1. Bio-Insecticide: Development and field-testing of a highly virulent nematode-based bio-insecticide for cranberry flea beetle, sparganothis fruitworm, and cranberry girdler control. 2. Nematode Mass-Propagation System: Creation of a mass-propagation system for in-house production of the nematodes by growers and other stakeholders. 3. Pheromone-Based Mating disruption: Discovery, field-testing, and commercialization of a mating disruption system for sparganothis fruitworm, cranberry fruitworm, and blackheaded fireworm. 4. Spray Timing Refinement: Development of spray timing models for sparganothis and cranberry fruitworm control, using marsh-specific weather data. 5. Bug Floods: Demonstration of flooding efficacy for pre-bloom caterpillar control. 6. Lure Quality Testing: Lure quality measurement across the major lure production companies and pest species.
