Interpretive Summary: A workshop: "Classical Biological Control of Weeds: Petition Development, Improvement, Submission, and Review" was held at the 2019 Entomological Society of America Annual Meeting. The talk "Agent Petitions: Newbie Insights" provided perspectives from early career scientists on the challenges of submitting a petition for the release of a new weed biological control agent and proposed ways to help people new to the process with petition development.
