Interpretive Summary: Continuing revisions in the taxonomy of the order Bunyavirales necessitate explanation to the virology community. New species are frequently described and existing species are sometimes reclassified; both require taxonomic revision. This article presents a timely update of these latest taxonomic changes for virologists in research and regulatory environments.

Technical Abstract: In March 2020, following the annual International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) ratification vote on newly proposed taxa, the phylum Negarnaviricota was amended and emended: 20 new genera and 160 new species were added, two genera and four species were deleted, one genus was moved, ten species were moved and renamed, and three genera and 30 species were renamed. This article presents the updated taxonomy of Negarnaviricota as now accepted by the ICTV.
