Many LDs are invisible, thus, if the student doesn’t disclose it is hard to determine that the student has an LD. The difficulty in reading, writing, and math occurs even though the student has adequate intelligence, healthy emotional development, and adequate learning opportunities. There are 7 types of learning disabilities we will cover in this chapter dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, audio processing disorder (APD), visual processing disorder (VPD), nonverbal learning disability (NLD), and dyspraxia. We will also cover teaching techniques, stigma of LDs and legislation.
