Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Detection and Removal of plastic contamination, especially plastic from round module wrap, has become a top priority in the cotton industry. All three USDA-ARS ginning laboratories have or are in the process of developing solutions to actively and passively detect and remove plastic from seed cotton and lint. This presentation addresses what has been and is being done at each ginning laboratory with emphasis on Visual Imaging Plastic Removal system (VIPR) and Module Feeder Inspection System (MFIS).
