Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Mechanical cotton ginning has a rich history in the U.S. that has positively impacted the seed cotton processing capabilities of the cotton industry throughout the world. This presentation will focus on the history and principles behind the current precleaning, ginning, lint cleaning, and pressing equipment used in cotton ginning. The evolution of equipment being used and the rationale behind that development will be discussed as it relates to harvesting, marketing, and textile applications.
