Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Lubrication, or the reduction of friction between contacting surfaces, represents a historically ubiquitous opportunity towards enhancing machinery output, productivity, and preventing mechanical failure. Due to increased awareness of the pollution and oil leakage problems and their effect on aquatic life, soil, and human health, environmentally acceptable lubricants (EALs) have grown in research popularity whereby non-traditional parameters centered around sustainability are likewise rising in importance within the field of tribological research. This article discusses various ways to formulate EALs.
