Interpretive Summary: Stilt bugs represent a small, worldwide family of both predaceous and plant-feeding true bugs. A number of species are serious pests of crops such as tomatoes, causing millions of dollars damage, whereas many others are predators of certain pest species, making them potentially important in biocontrol programs. In this publication, two new species of stilt bugs are described from Brazil. This paper will be of interest to biological control workers studying plant pest-predator systems, ecologists studying insect-plant coevolution, and other researchers investigating agricultural crops in the Neotropics.

Technical Abstract: The hoplinine stilt bugs (Heteroptera: Berytidae: Gampsocorinae) Hoplinus cincospinus Henry, n. sp. from Minas Gerais, Brazil, and Parajalysus brunneus Henry, n. sp. from Pará, Brazil, are described. A diagnosis, description, and digital images of the adult and selected structures are provided for each species and a revised key to the species of Hoplinus and a partial key to the species of Parajalysus are given to aid identification. New country records are given for Parajalysus punctipes Van Duzee, P. tenuicornis Henry, and P. verucosus Štusák.
