Interpretive Summary: Plant bugs represent the largest family of true bugs and include numerous agriculturally important species. Many are serious pests of crops and ornamental plantings, causing extensive losses in the United States annually. This paper presents the discovery of a new genus and two species new to science belonging to the second largest subfamily. Their distribution in the Patagonian Region of Argentina makes them of especial phylogenetic interest. Each species is diagnosed, described, and illustrated to aid in identification. This information will be of interest to a wide range of researchers studying the classification, distribution, and hosts of insects from this unique and poorly known area of South America.

Technical Abstract: As a contribution to the Festschrift devoted to Dr. Aleksander Herczek, Adesmiaphylus gen. nov., a new Phylini (Miridae: Phylinae) from the Andean-Patagonian region of Argentina, is described to accommodate two new species: A. manzanensis, sp. nov. from Neuquén Province and A. herczeki, sp. nov. from Mendoza Province. Both species were collected on plants in the genus Adesmia DC. (Fabaceae).
