Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Due to the recommendation listed below, the need to explain the Cotton Module Standard to the National Cotton Ginners Association (NCGA) committee and the Research and Education Committee at the NCC Annual Meeting was requested by the NCGA Vice President. Last week the National Cotton Ginner’s Association passed a recommendation to make the ASABE S615.2 Cotton Module Standard (Specifically the round module part) a CCC loan eligibility requirement for both the recourse seed cotton loan and the non-re-course bale CCC bale loan. Of course your lab along with your scientist helped develop the detection and ejection systems for our industry in record time. In addition, your lab led the charge in developing the ASABE Standard. The recommendation will be presented at the National Cotton Ginners Association Board and Annual Meeting that will be held in conjunction with the National Cotton Council’s Annual meeting in Dallas February 10-12. If the board passes the recommendation it will be sent to the Research & Education Committee for consideration. We need you in attendance at both of these meetings to help answer questions.
