Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Water conservation strategies, including agricultural water conservation strategies, are addressed in Regional Water Plans as part of the State Water Planning process. The Panhandle (Region A) Water Planning Group represents an important agricultural production area in terms of irrigated crop production, livestock production, and animal feeding operations. The agricultural water outlook and conservation strategies addressed in the Panhandle Regional Water Plan are among the most well documented and well described in the state, and they serve as a model for other regions. This presentation will describe the agricultural water conservation strategies and describe how they are used in the Regional Water Plan.
