Technical Abstract: Plants sustain nearly all life on Earth but face dire challenges from global environmental change. Climate change will push plants into environmental envelopes that pose novel challenges from abiotic and biotic stressors. Developing pathways for mitigating and adapting to climate change is a great challenge facing society, and in which the plant science community will play a central role to ensure food, water, and energy security.
