Interpretive Summary: The Association for the Advancement of Industrial Crops (AAIC) is an international, nonprofit educational and scientific organization established to encourage and promote the activities on industrial crops and products. The AAIC meets annually to discuss new advancements in Industrial Crops and Products research and the theme of this year’s 34th annual conference is “Building Sustainable Bioeconomies with Industrial Crops and Products”. This three-day conference has a full slate of presentation distributed across the societies five Divisions, which includes plenary, keynote, and oral and poster presentations from a host of internationally recognized experts. In addition to the presentations covering a wide range of topics associated with the advancement of industrial crops and products, in person participants will also be able to visit field sites growing and processing industrial crops in Oregon and participate in the closing awards banquet to honor our deserving colleagues. Technical Abstract: Welcome to the 34th Annual Meeting of the Association for the Advancement of Industrial Crops (AAIC 2023). This year’s conference has a full slate of presentations distributed across the societies five Divisions: Fibers and Cellulosic Crops, General Crops and Products, Medicinal and Nutraceutical Plants, Natural Rubber and Resin, and Oilseeds. A host of internationally recognized experts will provide the six invited plenary, 54 oral - including 5 invited keynote speakers, and 24 poster presentations covering a wide range of topics associated with the advancement of industrial crops and products. The half-day field tour and excursion will allow in person participants to visit sites growing and processing industrial crops in Oregon, and the closing awards banquet will provide an opportunity to honor our deserving colleagues.
