Interpretive Summary: The purpose of this eBook chapter is to describe the concept of shoot tip cryotherapy—the application of shoot tip cryopreservation to eradicate pathogens. Topics including the principles of shoot tip cryotherapy, development of cryotherapy procedures, measurement of regrowth and pathogen detection as well as the efficacy of cryotherapy are described. It is intended as an overview of cryotherapy and its applicability for pathogen eradication, with key literature reviews provided as reference materials.

Technical Abstract: Educational/training resources are being developed for topics related to plant genetic resources management and use.
